Situation
Comparing the real site with its digital model (field-to-BIM) requires regular, precisely positioned top-down imagery. Drone flights and walk-throughs are expensive, weather-dependent and don’t produce consistent image series.
Execution
A camera with a weatherproof control unit was mounted directly on the crane, capturing the site automatically at fixed intervals — high-resolution at 32 megapixels, with transmission to the cloud.
Outcome
A complete, dated top-down image series as the basis for field-to-BIM, progress tracking and documentation. The lessons from this project later fed into baustellenmanager.ch.
